Our Approach
At Centric Learning, our approach to personalized learning is foundationally built upon two core components: Project-Based Learning & Competency-Based Assessment.
Project-Based Learning
With project-based learning (PBL), students work on a project over an extended period of time – from a week up to a semester – that engages them in solving a real-world problem or answering a complex question. They demonstrate their knowledge and skills by developing a public product or presentation for a real audience.
Competency-Based Assessment
Competency-Based Assessment involves students submitting work for evaluation, with teachers providing constructive feedback. A unique feature is the option for students to re-submit new work after receiving feedback, aiming to demonstrate improved understanding and skills to earn a higher strand level. This iterative process emphasizes continual improvement and mastery of the subject matter.
"Centric Learning helped us find a better method for alternative education. It is great that our students are able to go back and correct their work and it's even better that they know what they have to correct."
