“It helped me both educationally and psychologically because every day I learn something new” by Sophia Magaldi

Hi, my name is Sophia Magaldi, and I am 16 years old. Steve Jobs has a famous quote that I have always made my life. “ You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backward. So, you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something; your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever.” With this phrase, I always understand that I have to believe in myself even if I have a hard obstacle to achieving what I want. I am someone who likes challenges and that is the reason I joined Centric Learning. 

I joined Centric Learning because I was looking for a new challenge that could make me fluent in English. And it really was a big challenge to get to where I am now. I joined in 2019, when I was 13 years old, at that age I was very young, despite always being responsible and organized.

In addition, I also had other challenges, as I studied at an English course, and I had some complications because I had a British accent, and some words I also spoke in British English, but I believe that my biggest challenge was my shyness. At first, I was very shy, but little by little I made new friends and felt more comfortable and welcome. 

My teacher also helped me a lot, as he was always a lot of fun and helped me to integrate into the classroom. In addition to teaching me, and talking about subjects I never thought I would learn, he made the classes much more enjoyable and fun, telling me about his life stories, and listening to ours.

In conclusion, I can confidently say that Centric Learning has made me a better person and student, I feel that I took this challenge and went to the end, learning numerous subjects that I never thought I would learn in my entire life, such as economics, the constitution, and the United States history. It helped me both educationally and psychologically because every day I learn something new. I would certainly recommend this project to my friends and family, so can experience it like I did, making new memories.
