Mariane Rech is a Centric Learning student from Brazil. She joined Centric Learning Academy in 2018 with a dream to study Visual Arts in the United States or in Canada. This week, she arrived in New York to start her first year at School of Visual Arts.
Watch her testimonial about her experience at Centric Learning above, or read it below:
I’m Mari, I’m 18 and I’m Brazilian. I was a student at Centric Learning for the past two and a half years and so I graduated high school with both an American and a Brazilian diploma. I was accepted in six universities both in Canada and the US and now I’m going to SVA, which is School of Visual Arts in New York.
My experience at Centric Learning was incredible. I loved my teachers and my classmates. The teachers were always very supportive and friendly, which made the whole learning process so much more enjoyable. And I just really loved talking to my friends about what we were studying and we would take these conversations outside of the classroom. So sometimes we were having like a break then we’re like, “do you remember the project? That was really cool to work on.” And it’s just a really good memory.
Another thing that I really appreciate was that I was able to study subjects that I would not normally study in my Brazilian high school, like economics, for example. I believe that understanding economics, for example, is really important when you’re going to college because you’re going to be living by yourself, probably in a different state or a different country, and you need to know how to handle your personal finances. It was really paramount to me.
Overall my experience was really incredible, very memorable, and I’m really, really grateful that I decided to take that step into improving my education. I would absolutely recommend Centric Learning to anyone that wants to be a better communicator, and a better person and professional.
